Makeup is art, beauty is spirit.-Maurya Ramteke
Hello friends! Question: When was the last time you cleaned your makeup brushes? If the answer is NEVER, then you’re not alone! I was really bad about cleaning my brushes, but then I started reading about all of the benefits to having a cleaning routine, and now I’m determined to be better. Today I am going to show you my method for cleaning my makeup brushes. It only takes about ten minutes, and it’s so important for making sure your makeup goes on smoothly, as well as helping to prevent possible breakouts.
What you’ll need:
1-Shallow bowl/dish of warm water
2-Baby shampoo: I use this brand, but you can use any brand you like!
3-Makeup Cleaning Pad: I found this one on Amazon, but if you don’t have a cleaning pad, you can always use a washcloth or the palm of your hand.
What to do:
1-Wet brushes in warm water: Important tip-Don’t dip the brushes ALL the way in to the water; you’ll loosen the glue attaching the fibers to the brush. Just dip the brush in enough to get the part you use wet.
2-Apply a little baby shampoo: Put a small amount of baby shampoo on your cleaning surface, whether that be a cleaning pad, damp washcloth, or the palm of your hand.
3-Swirl brushes onto the cleaning surface: Using a swirling motion, gently clean the tips of your brushes in the baby shampoo.
4-Rinse and dry: Rinse off your brushes (again, avoiding the place where the brush is glued to the base) in some warm water. You can use a towel to pat the bristles dry, then lay them flat or hanging upside down to dry. Make sure the brushes are dry before you use them again!
Check out that before/after! Experts recommend washing your brushes once a week to prevent buildup of product and possible bacteria. Hope this was helpful for you all! What other methods do you use for cleaning your makeup brushes? Let me know in the comments below!
